Poems and pronunciation
For C1, Monday Jan 28 you must choose a poem, practice reciting it at home and present it to the class or if you'd like you can record it.
You have two choices.
a) You recite a poem (choose 4-6 lines) of your choice
or
b) You recite the lyrics to your favorite song (choose 4-6 lines)
Here are some English poem examples
-Dr. Seuss poems: https://www.earlymoments.com/dr-seuss/favorite-dr-seuss-quotes/
-Shel Silverstein: http://100.best-poems.net/where-sidewalk-ends.html
-The Chaos: https://www.cs.cmu.edu/~clamen/misc/humour/TheChaos.html
-Example of a song: Jet Lag by Simple Plan
``What time is it where you are?
I miss you more than anything
Back at home you feel so far
Waitin' for the phone to ring
It's gettin’ lonely livin’ upside down
I don't even wanna be in this town
Tryin' to figure out the time zones makin' me crazy``
To present: You must introduce the author, and the title. Use a lot of
EXPRESSION in your voice. Take your time.
If you want to me to record a reading of the poem to help you practice, send me an email with the title to [email protected] and I will send you a recorded version.
